The story
An intimate portrait of the Sufi master Mulla Shah, painted around 1639. He was the spiritual guide to the Mughal prince Dara Shikoh and his sister Jahanara Begum. His students would use a likeness like this to focus their thoughts during meditation, contemplating his features.
