The story
Krishna battles the fire-headed demon Mura, guardian of the demon city of Pragjyotishapura. Painted around 1500 in northern or western India, this leaf comes from one of the earliest surviving illustrated copies of the Bhagavata Purana, a Sanskrit text full of Krishna's exploits.
