Walton bridges

The twin stone spans of the old Walton Bridges arc across the Thames in Surrey, the river curving past marshland on the right. Turner had moved nearby in 1804 and would row up the river sketching from his boat. This 1806 canvas is thought to be his first oil finished outdoors.
