Norham Castle, on the River Tweed
The story
A castle on the Anglo-Scottish border, silhouetted against a sky of gold and blue, while a man in a kilt below pulls a net out of the river Tweed. Turner first sketched Norham in 1797 and returned to it again and again. He painted this small watercolor around 1822.
