The Sun of Venice Going to Sea
The story
A Venetian fishing boat with "Sun of Venice" written on its sails drifts toward the open lagoon, rigging catching a hot wash of golden light. Turner showed this in 1843 with his own verses warning of a hidden demon — beautiful sunshine with a dark undertone.
