Wheatfield

A stretch of ripening wheat under a vivid sky, painted during Van Gogh's intense summer in Arles in 1888. One of about ten harvest studies in which he tested broad fields of golden yellow against blues and greens — he likened his fast brushwork to the labour of the harvester himself.
