The story
A thoughtful woman in regional Provençal dress sits at a table. She's Marie Ginoux, who ran a café in Arles where Van Gogh stayed. He painted this small group of portraits of her in 1890, basing them on a charcoal drawing by his friend Paul Gauguin.
