Hyacinth and Apples on a Newspaper

Fruit and spring flowers arranged on a copy of Le Petit Parisien. Gauguin painted this around 1876 or early 1877, while teaching himself to paint on the side of a finance job. The visible newspaper helps date the canvas more precisely than the catalogue does.
