Baby (Cradle)
The story
A small face peers out from the top of a tall pyramid of patterned quilts, the pinks, blues, and ochres turning the cradle into a near-abstract mosaic. Klimt painted it in 1917, one of his last works, with the green background calming the riot of color below.
