Pallas Athena

The Greek goddess of wisdom and war stands in full armor, holding a tiny nude figure of Truth where you'd normally expect a winged Victory. Painted in 1898, this is often called the first work of Klimt's gold-leaf period. He showed it that November at the Vienna Secession.
