Woman with pigs (In the full heat of the day)
The story
A half-nude Breton woman leans over a heap of hay beside two large yellow pigs. Gauguin painted it in 1888 in the village of Pont-Aven, just before he left to join Van Gogh in Arles. It's one of the strangest, most stripped-back pictures of that year.
