Vishnu Avatars

The ten incarnations of the god Vishnu gathered into one composition — Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, and Buddha among them. Raja Ravi Varma rendered the traditional Puranic figures in a European-style realism, helping standardize how modern Hindu devotional images would look.
