Village Street
The story
A narrow cobbled street in the Norman port of Honfleur, painted by Monet around 1869. This was just before his full Impressionist style took shape, when working in Normandy with Boudin and Jongkind was teaching him to capture daylight outdoors rather than rebuild it in the studio.
