The Flower Seller
The story
Ettore Tito (1859-1941) moved to Venice at a very young age and, at only twelve years of age, was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts of the lagoon city, thanks to his remarkable skills in drawing. In 1886, he began to participate in several exhibitions abroad, and in 1887, he introduced himself to the Italian public by participating in the National Art Exhibition in Venice. Dating from this period is the 1888 painting “The Flower Girl", depicting a flower seller in the company of a young man. The work testifies to the artist's adherence to the depiction of motifs from popular Venetian life.
