Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers
The story
Twelve sunflowers in a plain earthenware vase, bright yellow on pale yellow. Van Gogh painted a whole series of sunflower canvases in August 1888 to decorate his Yellow House in Arles, where Paul Gauguin was coming to stay.
