Sirens Eggs

Sirens Eggs was produced in 1939, a year before Klee’s death. In his last years, Klee, who suffered from restricted movement in hands, produced many paintings composed of bold lines and large color fields. Colors, forms, and lines produce a peaceful rhythm and quietly tell the artist’s sentiment. Sirens in the title are dangerous sea creatures combining women and birds in Greek mythology. They lured sailors with their beautiful voices to shipwreck them.
