The Lamb
The story
A lamb with closed eyes sits inside a glowing grid of blues, reds, yellows and greens. A small cross marks its head and a single drop of blood falls from its cheek. Klee made it in 1920, echoing the Christian Lamb of God while thinking about the suffering left behind by the First World War.
