Pêcheur et baigneurs sur l'Aven

A fisherman and a few bathers stand along the shallow banks of the Aven river in Brittany, dwarfed by the light playing on the water. Gauguin painted this in late summer 1888 from a hilltop above Pont-Aven, just as his style was turning bolder and more expressive.
