Capriccio of Verona
The story
An imaginary view of Verona that mixes real landmarks with invented settings, by the English landscape painter Augustus Wall Callcott. He started painting Italian scenes after a trip to Italy in 1827, following the playful tradition of view-painters like Canaletto.
