Banks of the Seine, Vétheuil

A tangle of wildflowers and tall grass in the foreground, the Seine winding away into a distant treeline. Daubs of lemon yellow and white animate the flowers while horizontal blue strokes build the river beyond. Painted by Monet in 1880 during his Vétheuil years.
