The story
A miracle of Saint Donatus of Arezzo, who restored a dead woman's hidden money to clear a falsely accused tax collector. This small panel was once part of an altarpiece begun in Verrocchio's workshop in the 1470s. Recent scholarship credits most of the painting to the young Leonardo.
