Reclining Nude
The story
A reclining nude, her elongated body filling the canvas edge to edge, stylised against a dark cover and seen from very close. Painted in 1917, it belongs to Modigliani's famous series of nudes that scandalised Paris and now ranks among the most recognisable images of early twentieth-century art.
