Poppy Field in a Hollow near Giverny

A blaze of red poppies in a green hollow above Giverny, the village rooftops just visible in the distance. Monet had moved to Giverny only two years earlier and was working through the local landscape with new energy. The poppy field became a favourite spot of his early Giverny years.
