Nursery on Schenkweg
The story
A wide view across a flower nursery on a road near Van Gogh's studio in The Hague. He preferred the scruffy outskirts to the pretty parts of the city. Drawn in 1882, this was one of the first works he ever sold — to his uncle, an art dealer.
