La Maison blanche / Le Château de l’Anglaise

A white house — also called The Englishwoman's Château — painted in the summer of 1885 while Gauguin was staying with a friend in Dieppe. It may have been shown at the eighth and final Impressionist exhibition the next year, his first public outing with the group.
