The Peaceable Kingdom
The story
A wolf and a leopard lie peacefully beside farm animals and a small child, illustrating Isaiah's prophecy of predator and prey at peace. In the distance, William Penn signs his treaty with the Lenape people. Edward Hicks, a Quaker minister and sign painter, made this around 1837.
