Garden at Sainte-Adresse

Monet's family takes the breeze on a clifftop terrace overlooking the Channel, the garden blazing with red and yellow flowers and the sea dotted with sailboats and steamships. Monet called it "a Chinese painting" — he was leaning into the Japanese prints flooding Paris at the time.
