Flower Beds at Vétheuil

A swirl of orange nasturtiums climbs among other flowerbeds Monet had planted on the riverbank below his rented house at Vétheuil. Painted in 1881, the composition holds together through colour rather than line — bright daubs loosely organised around a path.
