The story
A view of Cagnes-sur-Mer on the French Riviera, all soft southern light and loose, atmospheric brushwork. The Belgian painter Georges Lebacq, born in 1876, was largely self-taught and stayed often on the Riviera, drawn to the light. Painted in 1910.
